Her turn on the red carpet at the Oscars on Sunday made headlines across the globe.
Almost a week on, THAT picture of Angelina Jolie’s jutting right leg is still generating talk – but now for different reasons.
Dr Drew appeared on The View today where he said Jolie looks dangerously malnourished in the eye-catching image.
Skin and bones: Dr Drew said during an appearance on U.S. television today that Angelina Jolie looks malnourished as he discussed her appearance at the Oscars on Sunday
As the picture was flashed up on a screen behind him, he warned that women should not regard the actress as an ideal of beauty on account of her remarkably skinny figure.
‘She’s malnourished,’ he claimed, before reiterating: ‘I just see malnutrition.
‘We should not look at that as an ideal of beauty, even though she might be a beautiful woman.’
His comments came after he expressed the same verdict on her ‘dangerously’ skinny frame during his own, self-titled show earlier this week.

Fox presenter Bill O’Reilly is another who has weighed in on the matter.
‘Is it just me or is she looking mighty slim these days?
Emaciated even? I was kind of taken aback. Look at the arms on her,’ he said on The O’Reilly Factor the day after the Oscars.
O’Reilly went on to say Jolie, in his opinion, was sending out the wrong message to her fans with her rail-thin physique.

‘Angelina has been known to start her day with little more than a spoonful of coconut oil and a handful of cereal,’ a source told the publication.
‘The worrying thing is that she is so busy, she often forgets to eat.
‘Sometimes she’ll skip lunch altogether or will just grab a few almonds and some gummy bears while she’s on the go, or will have a protein-based shake rather than anything more substantial.
‘Then dinner could be something like a lean steak and a glass of red wine.’
Angelina’s fluctuating weight has been well documented, with her slim frame becoming painfully thin during difficult emotional times in her life.
The actress was forced to defend her waif-like frame in 2007, when her weight plummeted following the death of her mother Marcheline.
At the time, she said: ‘I have always been lean, and this year I lost my mum and I’ve gone through a lot.
‘Instead of people saying I look like a person dealing with something emotionally, they assume it’s because I want to fit into skinny jeans.’

‘m 16 and am probably as thin as her if not thinner so much so that i look ugly and am incredibly insecure and seeing some of the comments here are kind of insensitive. It seems to be bullying if a person calls someone who is curvier ‘fat’ but it’s ok for someone to call someone who’s naturally skinny ‘emaciated’. People can’t help the way they look, for all we know she might be stressed or something, or may just naturally have a skinny frame. I’ve tried everything to try and grow some curves because of hurtful comments. Just saying.

As others have pointed out, the problem with that argument is that Angelina Jolie used to be much curvier. So she isn’t naturally that thin she has lost a lot of weight. As for her forgetting eating – she isn’t forgetting to feed her children as well, is she?
I have three daughters, and they are all very slim, but one in particular is Angelina’s size. My 19 year old suffers the most insensitive comments, much like the ones featured here, and she eats all the time. Some people are just extraordinarily thin, but for a doctor to get on television and infer there is something wrong with her, without her there to defend herself or prove otherwise, simply based on a photo of her is preposterous and so unfair in too many ways ot lay it all out here. I am starting to think people prefer to be cruel and believe the worst, and Angelina has been the target for a long time–it is very disheartening.
Gee. Dr? Drew said so. Gosh it must be …….who cares what he says?
I used to admire her figure back in her Lara croft days. Athletic, healthy and curved, she LOOKED healthy, and that’s attractive. (to me) now she looks rangy and malnourished. Her muscle tone is deminished and she looks gaunt and therefore (to my eyes) not attractive at all. Jennifer aniston seems to have taken up the mantle in the body image dept. I wonder what brad thinks of her stick figure, and is he also thinking Jen looks pretty good right now.
Angelina is a very beautiful woman, but it’s true she now looks too thin to be really healthy. Maybe it’s the pressure of being in the public eye all the time, perhaps she’s got into the habit of watching her weight very carefully and has now taken it too far. It seems strange that some women don’t seem to realise when they go from slim to skinny, but it seems to be so. I’d love to see Angelina back to her usual slim self.

look, let’s face, angie rules that house including Brad. Angie has always had a dark side to her, and this could be one of those things that stem from that; they can show up in so many different forms. She is so skinny, in many of her photos you can’t tell she has a figure at all. We all love her in her gowns, but underneath that is body that doesn’t seem taken care of. But think about this too, Brad is looking sloppy and skinny too. Maybe she has a think about eating and gaining weight.
How can she forget to eat when she has a family who have to eat and cooks who are actually cooking meals for them. She is just the strange woman she has always been, an attention seeker.
Angelina does looks very thin, however it does make me smile that only a couple of weeks ago there was outrage over remarks made about Adele being a little bit fat, yet this TV Doctor thinks it is quite appropriate to to blab on about Angelina Jolie being “too thin”. It seems that thin people are expected to sit there and suffer any number of remarks, insults and unfounded speculation about their size, yet if you mention that someone could do with easing up on the cream cakes, call them “Thunder Thighs” or “Fat Arse”, there is unbridled outrage. I remember years ago when I had my last child, I looked very thin for a couple of years, not because I wasn’t eating but because my metabolism changed. It took me a long time to get back to what society calls a “healthy weight” through no fault of my own. I was insulted left right and centre particularly in the workforce during that time. If this TV doctor is that worred about Angelia, perhaps he should send her a private email.
What a ridiculous statement. You think it is shameful that Dr Drew has passed comment on Angelina without ‘checking her out’ but yet you are willing to do the same saying that she is NOT malnourished. Angelina is a stunningly beautiful woman but she is not healthy and is dramatically underweight. Doctors are trained to be aware of certain conditions and we are taught to look out for particular warning signs so he may not need to physically ‘check her out’ before passing opinion. the muscle wasting in her arms and legs is down to malnourishment and no other excuse can be made_____I do not like Angelina but she is not malnourished. She is thin, that is all.She may have the temperament of a person on speed, with a similar metabolism and desire for little bits of food. Shame on Dr Drew for making that kind of public statement without checking her out.
