Ionia travel teams complete solid seasons – Ionia Sentinel
Earning high finishes in the Delhi Parks and Recreation Summer Softball League, the Ionia Storm 14U teams finished the 2011 summer season on positive notes.
The eighth and ninth grade Storm team finished as a top five team in their league, while the sixth and seventh grade squad marched through the postseason to win the tournament championship.
Ionia entered the tournament as the No. 2 seed and earned a pair of mercy wins to advance to the finals, where they took on Holt.
In the championship game, the Storm nearly earned a third-straight mercy win as they rolled to a 12-4 win to take the league championship.
