Jessica Simpson Postpones Wedding to Eric Johnson

Earlier this week, numerous sources wrote they had reason to believe Jessica Simpson is truly expecting her first child. But until we can either see a baby bump OR Simpson herself releases a statement confirming the news, there’s really no way for us to know for sure. However, Us Weekly has now revealed a new detail about the singer’s future wedding to Eric Johnson that seems to suggest she truly is expecting.

The tabloid claims Simpson has postponed her wedding to Johnson, but doesn’t write that she did so because she’s pregnant. Instead, it explains Simpson put the nuptials on hold because she had trouble figuring out what she wanted to do for her big day. A source said, “Everything is up in the air. She can’t figure out what kind of day she wants. Some days she wants a big wedding in Hawaii, then other days she wants something closer to home.” Another friend said, “She was so gung ho about planning their wedding, and now she’s gone dark. She won’t commit to a date.” However, what’s important to remember is that if an engaged woman finds out that she’s pregnant, she’s going to consider holding off on the wedding for a while because she won’t want to walk down the aisle with a belly, or have everyone’s eyes on her when she’s far enough along in her pregnancy to feel uncomfortable in her own skin. Additionally, a belly significantly reduces a pregnant woman’s wedding dress options, and she might want to put off the ceremony until after she gives birth so she can fit into the dress of her dreams. But Simpson’s sister Ashlee got married to Pete Wentz when she was in her first trimester, so a pregnant bride isn’t unheard of. Actually, what is more unheard of is a bride who was once all excited about getting married, but somehow no longer is.
