Jessica Simpson reveals new materinity line
Jessica Simpson will be helping pregnant women everywhere ‘show off their bump’ with her new maternity line, available in February.
The singer announced Friday that she designed the line because she’s struggled to find maternity wear.
“I definitely look at comfort,” Simpson told E! News. “I buy bigger sizes which is very important but I haven’t really gone to maternity clothes. I don’t really love a lot of maternity stuff so I’m using it as a fun business thing to do. The next thing you’ll see form the Jessica Simpson Collection is maternity.”
Speaking with reporters in Pasadena to promote her new show Fashion Star on NBC, Simpson was in great spirits talking about the new collection.
“It’s really challenging to find adorable stuff. And fashionable stuff and stuff that doesn’t make you look like a house,” she said. “You want stuff that’s flattering to your bump; you want to show your bump off. We’re going to come out with some really great stuff. Lots of cute denim for all the ladies out there who are afraid to get dressed up pregnant.”
Her resolve to wait to find out the sex of her baby is also starting to break. “It’s hard to keep that secret from yourself. Now that we’re about to start the nursery, I kind of want to know,” she told E! News.
According to the LA Times, Simpson revealed the baby is due in the spring, but she and fiance Eric Johnson are choosing to keep the due date private.
Fashion Star will also have Nicole Richie and John Varvatos on the show with Elle MacPherson as the host, the LA Times reports. The show will center around the business and branding of fashion rather than pure design a la “Project Runway,” Nicole Richie told the Times. Fashion Star debuts March 13th on NBC.
