John Mayer ‘comfort eats’ over lost lovers

He once dated two of the world’s most gorgeous women, but let them both slip through his fingers, and now pals of John Mayer have said they’re worried that the singer is devastated by regret over losing Jennifer Aniston and Jessica Simpson.

Having seen both his exes very publicly move on with their new loves, sources claim that the Your Body is a Wonderland singer is now bingeing on junk food as he comes to terms with his relationship regrets.

“[Jennifer] was the one who got away,” a pal told Us Weekly. “He’s definitely not thrilled to see Jen in so many photos with a new guy – especially one who is a cooler version of him.” Adding that John’s been eating his feelings by tucking into super-fattening microwave snacks such as Pizza Bites and Hot Pockets.

Having vowed to stay out of the spotlight after being slammed by critics for revealing intimate details about his relationship with Jessica Simpson, and for an impromptu street-side press conference with the paparazzi in the wake of his split from Aniston, John has avoided the snappers he once courted and stayed locked away in his music studio, ostensibly working on his next album.

“He’s just eating microwave food and getting chunky,” added the mole. “Seeing Jen happy now isn’t easy. He cared about her more than any of his other girlfriends.”

And insiders are also spilling that it’s not just Jen who John is voicing his regrets over, with Jessica also playing a part in his late-night laments. “You know who’s been looking lonely and scruffy and miserable lately? John Mayer,” insisted etalk’s Elaine Lui. “A part of me doesn’t believe he’s ever really gotten over Jessica.”
