Katy and Russell spend Christmas apart
Katy Perry and husband Russell Brand both spent Christmas on the beach – but the strips of sand were 7,000 miles apart.
The Firework singer frolicked in the sea with friends in Hawaii on Christmas Day, while the British comedian was snapped on a beach in Cornwall where he is staying in a rented cottage.
Katy, 27, and Russell, 36, have recently denied a string of rumours that their marriage is on the rocks, though neither has mentioned their separate festive celebrations on Twitter.
The couple married in India last year and spent a lot of time apart while Katy was on her 122 date California Dreams tour, which ended earlier this month.
Katy jokingly compared her marriage to a soap opera a few weeks ago.
She tweeted: “First I’m pregnant then I’m divorced. What am I? All My Children?! Erica Kane? Pshhh.”
She was referring to a character from a US TV soap who has had several failed marriages.
Russell also denied split rumours during an appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres Show, saying: “I am really happily married.”
