Katy Perry Hair Color Change an ‘Impossible’ Transformation

Katy Perry’s colorist has revealed that it took three attempts to dye her hair lavender.

The California Gurls singer had to go from black to ginger to blonde and finally to the pastel shade to make sure that her hair stayed healthy.

New York City salon owner Rita Hazan told Us Weekly that the ‘impossible’ transformation took a lot of nourishing oil treatments to prevent breakage and a good deal of faith.

“It’s years of skill and experience… and I prayed to the hair gods.”

Talking about Katy’s choice of color, she explained that she asked for, ‘an uncommon color, something not too pink, but not too purple’.

“She felt that lavender would keep her look edgy, but still glamorous, and a lighter pastel shade that would work well with her skin tone,” explained Hazan.

But she doesn’t expect the 26-year-old to stick with the shade for long. “Now that she sees how fun color is, I think she’ll keep changing it up,” she added.
