Katy Perry Makes ‘Special’ Plans for Unreleased ‘Teenage Dream’ Tracks

As Katy Perry readies the music video for her staggering sixth ‘Teenage Dream’ single, ‘The One That Got Away,’ she’s also working on a side project — re-recording tracks off the hit CD that didn’t make the original cut!

The pop star has been back in the studio with producer Tricky Stewart, who produced Katy’s ‘Circle the Drain’ and ‘Hummingbird Heartbeat,’ revamping previously rejected tracks were left off the album due to a “contractual obligation,” whatever that may mean.

“Katy and I went into [the studio] just to address some issues with records that we had done in the past that didn’t end up going on ‘Teenage Dream,’” Stewart told MTV News. “So we are in the process of just listening and freshening up things and getting ready for something special she has going on.”

Could that cryptic “something special” be a bonus B-side record? “I don’t know what it is, but I know she has something going on because she wants to be in the studio,” her producer spilled. “This song is really special. It’s called ‘Dressing Up,’ so it’s going to be a big record, I think,” he added, inadvertently revealing the song Katy is currently re-working.

So why didn’t ‘Dressing Up’ make the original cut? “We always knew that the [songs] we created were special [and] at the time, it was more contractual obligation [why they didn't make the record]. I can only have so many songs produced by me on the record. She didn’t need to have extra songs at the same time,” Tricky revealed. Well yes, a Michael Jackson record-tying five No. 1s off a single album is plenty, isn’t it?

So what is Katy cooking up for us at the moment? We’ll have to wait and see!
