Katy Perry won’t join ‘American Idol,’ singer says
Katy Perry has voted herself off “American Idol.”
The 27-year-old “Part of Me” singer won’t be a part of the judging panel on the Fox singing competition show next season, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
“People have reached out to me about the possibility of being involved, and it’s not right for me yet,” Perry told the trade publication. “It’s a real commitment to be on one of those shows.”

“American Idol” may be looking for one or more judges next season, with Jennifer Lopez dropping strong hints that she’s going to exit the show. Fellow judges Steven Tyler and Randy Jackson haven’t made any official announcements of a return, either.
There has already been speculation that former runnerup Adam Lambert is in talks to join “Idol.”

“They have been talking about Adam for over a month,” a source told E! News. “He personifies the show, and will be a popular choice right from the start. He knows what it’s like to be on the receiving end of the judges’ comments, he has a human touch, and they know they can’t go wrong if they bring him on.”
There have also been reports that producers are mulling Miley Cyrus for the show, possibly as a reaction to the hiring of fellow ex-Disney star Demi Lovato by rival Fox singing competition “The X Factor.”
