She is used to sunnier climes in Los Angeles, but Jennifer Garner handled the unusual city downpour like a trouper today.

The 39-year-old star got a drenching as she strolled through Beverly Hills today but still managed to flash a smile as she chatted on the phone to a friend.

Pregnant Garner certainly came out prepared for the wet conditions, wearing a khaki coat, jeans and sturdy black boots.

However, she seems to have forgotten her umbrella, causing her usually lustrous brown hair to look damp and bedraggled.

Her blossoming baby bump was well hidden under her coat.

The star was braving the wet conditions to enjoy a lunch with friends in the city.

Dampening down: The star wore a warm coat, a pair of jeans and black boots as she walked to a restaurant to meet friends

She enjoyed a bite to eat at the ultra healthy M Cafe de Chaya, an eatery famous for its contemporary macrobiotic cuisine.

And the star, who is often spotted with her two daughters Violet, five, and two-year-old Seraphina, was clearly enjoying some solo time with some girl friends.

The trio were spotted deep in conversation as they left the eatery together.
