Tuned In: Justin Bieber and Cody Simpson Team Up in the Studio

Justin Bieber is hard at work on his upcoming album Believe, and it sounds like he’s entertaining no shortage of special guests in the studio. The latest is bound to make Australian Beliebers happy: Cody Simpson just tweeted about their upcoming collaboration. If you are 12 years old, this is a really big deal.
Also in music news, Lady Gaga’s boyfriend supposedly wants her to tone down the avant garde act when they’re together, Rihanna was spotted partying hard with Dr. Dre, and Jamie Lynn Spears is chummy with one of the kids from Teen Mom. Of course she is.
• There’s no rivalry between Justin Bieber and Cody Simpson, even if they once shared haircuts and were both discovered on YouTube. It turns out that both young men like making money. Late Wednesday night Simpson tweeted, “chilled with the mate @justinbieber in the studio tonight. look for some great records coming. #AustraliaToCanada #CoastToCoast.”
Simpson, who was working some photo opps reportedly romancing Keeping Up with the Kardashians‘ Kylie Jenner last year, is managed by Scooter Braun, the man responsible for the rise of Bieber. He’s steadily shrugged off any comparisons to Bieber since the start of his career, although he hasn’t yet done much to extricate himself from the teen idol image.
The two were joined by former teen idol Usher, aka Justin’s mentor, who tweeted Wednesday night, “Just left the studio with lil bro…soundin good.”
• Also good: Justin Bieber has singlehandedly upped organ donor registration with a few quick tweets. On January 19, a sick fan named Helene Campbell tweeted, “Hey @justinbieber! I BELIEB you should use that Canadian voice of yours and help save lives like mine.”
Justin subsequently tweeted, “@alungstory i got the word…you have amazing strength. i got u. #BeAnOrganDonor.” He followed up, “Help spread the word for @alungstory alungstory.ca #BeAnOrgan Donor.”
According to Trillium Gift of Life’s CEO Ronnie Gavsie, registration is through the roof: “On an average day we would expect about 50 new online registrations. Since Helene’s campaign began last Thursday, the average has been closer to 200 per day.”
Saving lives, no big deal.

• Esteemed news site MediaTakeOut reports that Rihanna was having a grand old time with Dr. Dre at a Los Angeles club this week. We’ll let them take it from here: “The two BOTH got very drunk, and started hugging and being very FLIRTATIOUS. Tells the insider, ‘It was embarrassing . . . [Dre] was carrying on with that girl in front of everyone.”
Another source claims Rihanna and Dre might have been meeting up to discuss a new line of Beats by Dre headphones for girls. Zzzz…
Jamie Lynn loves Teen Mom. (PCN) • Jamie Lynn Spears struck up a Twitter friendship with Teen Mom‘s Chelsea Houska recently, as she, too, was disturbed by Houska’s truly evil ex boyfriend.
On Tuesday Spears tweeted, “I think @ChelseaHouska is sooo damn pretty… Way too pretty to be crying over (whatever his name is)!!!”
Chelsea suggested that she, Jamie Lynn, and their daughters have a playdate, to which Spears responded, “Let’s make it happen!!”
At least that’s one positive thing to come out of Teen Mom.
