What’s Up With Julianne Moore And Jessica Simpson?

Talk about random! We’ve seen some strange celebrity feuds this year (um — Miranda Lambert vs. Chris Brown?), but this one definitely has us scratching our heads. In an interview with More magazine, Oscar-nominated actress Julianne Moore seems to slam NBC‘s Fashion Star mentor and mom-to-be Jessica Simpson. For what? Keep reading for all the details.
What’s Julianne Moore’s beef with Jessica Simpson?
It actually doesn’t sound like much.
When asked her thoughts on all of the tabloids and gossip that has become more mainstream these days, the Game Change star told the magazine: “They encourage young women, and some middle-aged women, to be interested in somebody else’s narrative rather than their own.”
“I don’t want my daughter or her friends to be interested in Jessica Simpson,” added the actress, explaining, “I want them to be interested in what’s happening in their own lives.”
While it seems as though Julianne Moore was simply throwing out a random name to illustrate a larger (and totally valid) point, she could’ve done a lot better — or worse, rather — than the singer-turned-fashion mogul. Paris Hilton, Lindsay Lohan, we’re lookin’ at you!
